This workshop will present the pathways and obstacles to reimbursement and funding in Europe with a emphasize on Europe's largest market Germany.

Success in these markets is driven by the unmet need in the therapeutical area, the value story of your product, the evidence base and a flawless stakeholder management. 

During this workshop we will introduce key institutions deciding on reimbursement and market access, the data requirements and based on plenty of examples we will demonstrate the limitations "of cookbook" like reimbursement approaches and will show alternatives to ensure fastest possible success.

Speaker:
Dr Arne Heissel, Director Global Reimbursement & Health Economics Biotronik SE & Co KG Arne has more than 10 years academic and industry ex perience in working at European, International and Global positions in health-economics, outcomes research and reimbursement for worldwide leading medical device and biotechnology companies. 

Arne studied economics at the University of Bayreuth, Germany, and Princeton University, USA. He received his doc toral degree in Economics from the University of Bayreuth, Germany in 2001. Following his academic education he worked for 1 year as a post-doc research fellow at the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR) in Lawrencville, USA. He is a co-founder of the ISPOR European medical device & diagnostic forum and was co-chair of the scientific program committee of the international ISPOR conference in Hamburg in 2004. He holds two ISPOR awards. 

Arne lec tured health economics and health technology assessment at the University of applied science in Coburg, Germany and provided training in collaboration with representatives from the German DRG institute and hospital representatives on the introduction of the German DRG system.
