Staffan Bjessmo (MD, PhD), has a clinical background as an operative Cardiothoracic Surgeon at Karolinska University Hospital for 13 years. He has also a scientific background as a researcher at Karolinska Institutet with a PhD in Cardiac Surgery in year 2000, Head of the Dept. of Cardiothoracic Surgery and Anestesiology at Uppsala University Hospital and most recently head of all surgical divisions at a regional hospital.
